Monroe County Prosecutor Seeking to Revoke Probation of Sex Offender Recently Arrested for Incident in Vandalia

The Monroe County prosecutor is looking to revoke the probation of a convicted sex offender that was arrested in Audrain County recently.

According to court records Prosecuting Attorney Talley Kendrick Smith filed an order in Monroe County District Court to order 71 year old Ronald David Leake to serve a one-term in the Monroe County Jail.

Leake was charged on September 23rd in Audrain County with 2 separate felonies for reportedly being a registered sex offender physically present within 500 feet of a park with a playground, pool or museum.

Leake is accused of approaching 3 juveniles in Vandalia on September 20th, and inviting them to come to his home in Perry.

He allegedly asked the kids to help him around the house with his dog, and offered them pizza and twenty dollars in exchange for their assistance.

Leake was found guilty in December of 2019 for providing pornographic material to a minor child.

A warrant is also issued in Pike County charging Leake with felony stalking of 2 women in August in Bowling Green.

In a Monroe County case, Leake was found guilty on December 4th of attempting to provide a lollipop in the shape of male genitalia for a young girl who was walking with her mother.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on October 6th for a counsel status hearing.
