The Mexico Bulldogs football team begin their journey in the District Playoffs tonight when they host the Fulton Hornets.

Mexico defeated the Hornets 40-28 earlier this month in the 54 Bowl.

The Bulldogs will be without their starting quarterback Ty Prince who broke his fibula in last week’s loss to Warrenton.

Bulldogs running back Michael White is also out for tonight.

Sophomore Ty Simms will get the start at quarterback.

Kickoff is at 7pm.

In other week 1 District Playoffs games MMA is at home against Hermann.

Van-Far travels to Montgomery County.

Mark Twain gets South Shelby.

Bowling Green is at home facing Clopton.

Boonville goes to California.

Southern Boone hosts Macon.

Kirksville vs. Warrenton.

Marshall will travel to Warrensburg.

And Jefferson City is at home against Camdenton.

Former St. Louis Cardinals skipper Tony La Russa is the new manager of the Chicago White Sox.

The 76 year old La Russa rejoins the franchise where his managing career began more than 4 decades ago.

The Hall of Famer won a World Series Championship with the Oakland Athletics and 2 more with the St. Louis Cardinals.
