CARES Act Funding Helps Audrain County Organizations

More than one hundred fifty-six thousand dollars in CARES Act funding reimbursement to Audrain County businesses and other organizations was made between July 24th and September 22nd being reported by the Audrain County Commission.

The money spent went to businesses and other organizations for purchase of personal protective equipment and help with rent, mortgage, or utility expenses.

Of that money, over thirty-five hundred dollars went to the cities of Laddonia, Farber, and Vandalia for personal protective equipment.

Schools in the country received just over forty-seven thousand dollars for PPE, including nearly thirty-one thousand dollars for Mexico Public Schools.

The King’s Daughters Home in Mexico got almost thirty-two thousand dollars for PPE purchases and Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia was reimbursed nearly thirty-four thousand dollars for rent and utility assistance.

Just over twenty-three thousand dollars helped public entities such as the Mexico-Audrain County Library District and Mexico Area YMCA and others pay for PPE and rent or utility assistance, and civic organizations like the Mexico Elks, the Audrain County Historical Society received nearly seventeen thousand dollars in reimbursements.
