Audrain County Health Department Urges Residents to Take Extra Precautions for Thanksgiving Holiday

The Audrain County Health Department is urging residents to take extra precautions this Thanksgiving holiday.

In a press release sent out today (Monday) the health department says Audrain County is continuing to see record numbers of new COVID-19 cases and is urging county residents to do everything possible to stop the spread and reduce the rise of cases in the county.

Audrain County Health Department CEO Craig Brace says informal gatherings among friends and families are contributing to the high number of COVID cases in Audrain County.

Brace says there are several ways of keeping your risk of exposure down but still being able to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Residents are urged to limit exposure as much as possible in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Gather only with those in your household, if possible.

Refrain from close contact, wear masks over your nose and mouth when not eating and avoid touching your face.

Residents are also reminded to remember that getting the flu vaccine is especially important this year.
