Audrain County Community and Health Leaders Meet

Audrain County health and community leaders resume weekly collaborative meetings.

In today’s (Wednesday) virtual meeting, Community R6 Superintendent Cheryl Mack noted that the two positive cases in the district have resulted in 63 students and staff in quarantine, and that the varsity basketball season will look much different this year with limited spectators and perhaps a mask requirement for spectators.

Vandalia City Administrator Darren Berry says he expects a resolution from the city council in the next two weeks supporting the Audrain County Health Department’s current mask advisory.

Missouri Military Academy staff reported that cadets will not be returning home for Thanksgiving break, but will instead leave for their Christmas break early and they are still maintaining their semi-contained campus.

On the long-term care facility front, Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia is taking new admissions as long as the incoming resident has a negative COVID-19 test.

At Pin Oaks in Mexico, there are no indoor or outdoor visits right now, less than five non direct patient care staff have tested positive and weekly testing continues.

The next meeting is set for December 2nd.
