Governor Parson Extends State of Emergency in Missouri and Won’t Implement Mask Mandate

Governor Mike Parson is extending the state of emergency in Missouri through March 31st, 2021 however says he will not regulate gatherings or issue a statewide mask mandate.

The governor held a news briefing this morning (Thursday) in Jefferson City and said he would not mandate who goes through the front door of your home, that is not our job in the state government.

The state’s health director, Dr. Randell Williams, encouraged Thanksgiving celebrations to be limited.

Missouri is one of 16 states to not implement a statewide mask mandate.

According to the latest White House Coronavirus Task Force report, Missouri’s new COVID-19 cases have increased by 41 percent in the last week.
