Mexico Bulldogs Girls Basketball Defeats Montgomery County in Overtime Thriller

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team defeated the Montgomery County Wildcats 74-71 tonight (Wednesday) in an overtime thriller and have advanced to the Championship Game of the Montgomery Tournament.

The Mexico Girls would get down early trailing 19 to 7 after the first period.

Montgomery County went into halftime with a 37-28 advantage.

The Lady Dawgs would chip away at the Wildcats lead and make a huge comeback in the second half of the game and send it into overtime tied at 66.

Mexico would outscore Montgomery 8-5 in the overtime period.

Mya Miller led the team with another double-double including 20 points and 5 clutch free-throws at the end of the game and into overtime.

Riley Thurman with 16 points.

Lexi Willer put up 11 points.

Taylor Demint in double figures with 11.

Abby Oetting finished the game with 9.

Riley Blevins pitched in 5 points and Jordyn Thurman rounded out the scoring book with 1 point.

The Mexico Girls are now 2-0 and will face Herman in the Championship Game of the Montgomery County Tournament on Saturday with a 5pm tip-off.
