Mexico Boys Basketball Take First Place in Montgomery County Tournament While Mexico Girls Finish in Second Place

The Mexico Boys and Girls Basketball each competed in the chmampionship games of the Montgomery County Tournament tonight (Saturday).

The Mexico Girls took 2nd place and took their first loss of the season 49-43 to the Herman Lady Bearcats.

Mexico was led in scoring by Lexi Willer who finished with 12 points.

Followed by Abby Oetting with 9, Riley Thurman had 7, Taylor Demint had 6, Riley Blevins put up 5, and Mya Miller threw down 4 points.

The Mexico Boys Basketball Team took home first place in the Montgomery Tournament defeating New Haven Shamrocks 52-39.

The boys scored 11 in the first period followed by 12 in the 2nd, 13 in the third and 16 in the final period.

Three Bulldogs finished in double digits. Isaiah Reams led all scores with 14.

Raef Yager and Drew Blevins each had 11 points respectively.

Rounding out the scoring book was Peyton Willer and Daeye Miller with 6 points.

And it was Michael White with 4 points and 2 blocks.

The Mexico Boys are 3-0.

Both the Mexico Boys and Girls will be in action on Tuesday night for their first home games of the season against Brookfield.
