Missouri Ready to Roll Out Three Phase Vaccine Plan

Missouri is expected to enter phase one of their vaccine roll out plan soon following FDA authorization of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use.

According to state health officials the plan revolves around three principals, that are vaccination, coordination, and communication.

The first phase of that plan will start in limited numbers before the end of the year.

Because of limited supply, the state will focus on those high risk front line workers and according to Missouri’s Health Director Dr. Randall Williams those vaccinations could begin next week on Thursday.

The next will shift focus to working with local and community partners to vaccinate essential workers like first responders and teachers.

Phase 2 is expected to roll out in the later winter months and into early spring of 2021.

Phase 3 will be for the remaining Missourians who want the vaccine and should be available late spring of 2021.

The plan calls for pharmacies and clinics to provide the vaccinations at no charge.
