Health Care Workers to Get First COVID-19 Vaccinations This Week

MU Healthcare will start administering their first COVID-19 vaccinations as early as tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

More than 220,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccines are expected to be in Missouri by around Christmas Day according to state health officials.

An order of fifty one thousand doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week will go to 20 distribution sites.

Doses of the vaccine will arrive at Columbia’s University Hospital today (Tuesday).

MU Health Care hospital employees with direct contact to COVID-19 patients would get their vaccinations tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

Boone Hospital Center is anticipating beginning employee vaccinations on Thursday.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Director Dr. Randall Williams is hoping to vaccinate 3 million essential workers statewide by February.
