Lincoln University Establishing Law Enforcement Training Academy

Lincoln University will be establishing the nation’s first law enforcement training academy at a historically black college and university.

A one-year probationary law enforcement basic training center license was issued to the University yesterday (Tuesday) and signed by Governor Mike Parson and Missouri Department of Public Safety Director Sandy Karsten during a ceremony.

The training academy will be a part of Lincoln’s criminal justice program and will allow students to pursue Missouri peace officers lincenses while earning their academic degrees.

Lincoln University plans to enroll its first recruit class in January 2021.
