Macon Tournament

In the girls bracket #1 Macon Tigers defeated #8 Marceline 86-22.

#2 Mexico Lady Bulldogs over #7 Brookfield 68-26.

#3 Centralia Lady Panthers held off #6 Kirksville 52-47.

#5 Harrisburg upset #4 Moberly 42-33.

On the boys side of the bracket #1 Mexico Boys cruised to a 90-20 win over #8 Brookfield.

#5 Moberly Spartans took out the host team #3 Macon 73-61.

The tournament resumes today with the #2 Kirksville Tigers against Marceline with a 4:30 tip. And the #3 Harrisburg battles #6 Centralia at 8:30pm.

In other high school basketball last night the North Callaway Thunderbirds Boys and Girls Teams both recorded wins at home against Fayette.

The Thunderbirds girls defeated Fayette in overtime 46-39.

The Thunderbirds boys were victorious 79-60.

The next game for both teams is at home tonight (Tuesday) against Wellsville-Middletown.

The Mexico Girls Wrestling competed at the Winnetonka Tournament yesterday (Monday).

Katie Bowen finished in 1st place. Choice Foster took home second place.

And Abbey Drew finished in 3rd place in the 122 division.

Mizzou Women’s Basketball comeback bid fell just short last night (Monday) at Mizzou Arena, as the Tigers fell 66-64 to LSU.

Despite being down for the majority of the game, Mizzou managed to close the gap in the final five minutes, however LSU managed to make just enough free throws to hold off the Tiger’s comeback to seal the victory.

Aijha Blackwell led Missouri in scoring tallying 14 points and 11 rebounds, which was good for her fifth double-double of the season.

The St. Louis Blues defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-4 in their home opener at the Enterprise Center last night (Monday).

Justin Faulk scored twice during a four-goal second period for St. Louis.

With the win the Blues improved to 2-1 on the season.

The 19th ranked Missouri Tigers Men’s Basketball Team returns home tonight (Monday) to face the Carolina Gamecocks.

Tip-off is at 6pm.
