IRS to Delay Tax Filing Deadline

The IRS is planning to delay this year’s tax filing deadline to mid-May.

The IRS put out a statement yesterday (Wednesday) saying the new deadline would be May 17th.

The decision was reportedly made in order to allow filers more time to navigate tax situations complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, the IRS moved the deadline to July 15th, giving Americans an additional 3 months to file their taxes.
