Two more Mizzou men’s basketball players are joining Xavier Pinson in the transfer portal.

Redshirt sophomore Parker Braun entered the portal Saturday morning followed by senior Mark Smith just hours later.

Braun is the son of former Mizzou women’s player Lisa Sanbothe Braun and nephew of former men’s player Mike Sandbothe.

The Cardinals sent 6 players to the minors after last night’s loss to the Nationals, 11-3. They optioned pitcher Kodi Whitley and outfielder Lane Thomas and re-assigned catchers Tyler Heineman and Dennis Ortega and infielders Max Moroff and Jose Rondon.

Dakota Hudson, Kwang Hyun Kim, Miles Mikolas and Harrison Bader will all begin the season on the injured list.

The team plans to include John Nagowski, Edmundo Sosa, Austin Dean, Justin Williams and Jake Woodford on its 26-man opening day roster set to come out Thursday morning.

The Cards are in action this morning, taking on the Mets at 11:05.

The Royals doubled up the Rockies 6-3. The Royals host the Cleveland Indians this afternoon, first pitch is at 2:05.

The game at Enterprise Center in St. Louis last night went into overtime before the Anaheim Ducks came away with a win, besting the Blues 3-2.

The Blues are off until Friday night when they travel to Colorado to take on the Avalanche at 8.

The Northwest Mo State Bearcats men’s basketball team knocked off West Texas A&M 80-54 Saturday night to pick up their 3rd division 2 national title in the last 5 seasons.

The Bearcats entered postseason play as the number 2 seed and picked off West Liberty 98-77 in the Elite Eight and Flagler 77-46 in the Final Four before taking down the number 1 seed Buffaloes Saturday night.

They dominated the tournament, winning their last 3 games by an average of 26 points.
