Tick-Borne Illness Rise During Warmer Weather

Spring is here and with warmer weather comes tick season and a rise in tick-borne illnesses.

Health Officials offer some tips to help reduce the chances of ticks becoming a problem in the first place.

Ticks like warm weather, tall grass, and bushes so keeping your yard cut and well-maintained can go a long way toward keeping them at bay.

When outside, wearing light colored clothing and long sleeves, wearing insect repellent with DEET in it and checking family and pets every three hours for ticks are other recommendations.
