Missouri House Votes Not to Fund Medicaid Expansion
The Missouri House of Representatives has voted down funding Medicaid expansion.
Yesterday (Tuesday) the Republican-led house voted against several Democratic proposals to fund thousands more low-income adults to get Medicaid.
Voters in Missouri last year amended the state Constitution to expand eligibility for the government health care program, however the GOP-led House Budget Committee last week took away funding for the expansion from next year’s budget.
Republicans are voicing their concerns about committing the state to paying for a growing and expensive program.
