The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Miami Marlins on the road 4-2 in a come from behind win last night (Tuesday) on the road.

The Redbirds fell behind 2-0 then had a big sixth inning that started with back-to-back singles from Tommy Edman and Paul Goldschmidt.

Nolan Arenado walked to load the bases, and Edman made it home on a wild pitch, Goldschmidt scored on a ground out and Yadier Molina brought Arenado home on a sac fly.

St. Louis will go for the series sweep against the Marlins this afternoon.

Mizzou Softball’s Jenna Laird is the recipient of the SEC freshman of the Week award for the 2nd time this season.

The announcement was made yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

The Long Island-native is batting .439 on the year and leads all SEC freshmen.

Overall last week Laird batted .667 with 3 doubles, 3 stolen bases, 4 runs batted in and 7 runs scored and 3 walks.
