Auxvasse Man Sentenced to Prison for Second Degree Murder

An Auxvasse man is sentenced to 12 years in prison for second degree murder.

According to court records 30 year old Joey Morris was sentenced after he pleaded guilty in connection to the April 2019 shooting of Nathan Pritchett Jr.

Officials say Morris admitted he, William Schoening-Scoggins and Justin Witt arranged to purchase methamphetamine from Pritchett and during the exchange, Morris tried to use counterfeit money.

An argument ensued and Pritchett was shot.

Schoening-Scoggins was sentenced to the same prison terms in November 2019 after pleading guilty to the same charges.

Justin Witt still has charges pending against him.
