City of Ashland Settles Lawsuit with Former Police Chief

The City of Ashland has settled a lawsuit with their former police chief.

According to documents obtained by the Columbia Missourian through an open records request the City of Ashland’s insurer paid former police chief Lynn Woolford $112,636, and his attorney received $24,863.

Neither side admitted any wrongdoing in the case, and both agreed to neither disparage the other through future actions or comments nor to disclose or discuss details of the settlement.

The lawsuit was brought against the City of Ashland after Woolford was removed from the job by former Mayor Gene Rhorer.
