Fulton Schools Considering a Racial Equity in Future Strategic Planning

The Fulton Public Schools is considering a racial equity in strategic planning.

The discussion comes after a parent visited the Fulton Public Schools Board of Education last week to ask that it include racial equity in its planning for the future.

The district has objectives in it’s current comprehensive school improvement plan.

One objective aims to ensure the staff reflects the same diversity percentages as the student population.

The current strategic was adopted in 2017 with yearly provisions to last through 2022.

Superintendent Ty Crain says they are currently working with Education Governance Leadership Team to put together its next strategic plan and soon they will solicit feedback from the community this summer or early next fall.
