Truman VA Hospital to Provide COVID-19 Vaccinations to Veterans at Audrain County Courthouse

Caregivers from the Truman VA Hospital will be at the Audrain County Courthouse in Mexico this afternoon (Wednesday) to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for veterans, spouses of veterans, and any caregiver of a Veteran.

It takes place from 12:30 until 2:30 this afternoon at the courthouse located at 101 North Jefferson Street.

No appointment is necessary.

Walk ins are welcome.

The event is in conjunction with the United States Exercise Tiger Foundation and Audrain County’s commemoration of the 77th anniversary of Exercise Tiger.

Exercise Tiger, which took place on April 28, 1944, on the beaches of Slapton Sands, England, was one of a series of large-scale rehearsals for the D-Day invasion of Normandy during World War II. During the exercise, several German torpedo boats attacked the allied landing crafts, sinking two and damaging two others. In total, 749 U.S. Army and U.S. Navy servicemen were killed during the attack.
