Rural Communities Showing Low Vaccination Percentages

While Boone County is leading Missouri in the number of residents who have received COVID-19 vaccinations some rural counties such as Audrain and Callaway are far behind.

Dr. Laura Morris the co-chair of the MU Health Care vaccination committee says there may be several causes.

Dr. Morris says the pause of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine impacted the number of people wanting to get vaccinated.

MU Health Care has vaccine appointments to all Missourians age 16 & older tomorrow (Saturday).

Those interested in receiving a vaccine can visit muhealth.org/covid19-vaccine-scheduling to schedule an appointment.

Patients younger than 18 will need signed parental consent.

The first-dose appointments are available between 7am and 5pm.

The second doses will be scheduled 21 days later.
