FDA Expected to Authorize Use of Pfizer Vaccine for Young Adults

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expected to give the green light for the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for young adults age 12 and older by next week.

The FDA action would be followed by a meeting of a federal vaccine advisory committee to talk about whether to recommend the shot for 12 to 15 year-olds.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would then act on the committee’s recommendation.

This could set up the shots for many before the start of the next school year.
