KWWR Sports Report 5/8

Every member of the Mexico Bulldogs Boys Tennis Team took home All District Honors yesterday (Friday).

The individual Districts were held at the Mexico Netplex yesterday afternoon and Brendan McKeown took 3rd, Randy Hernandez took 4th.

Ryan Pemberton and Haden Frazier took 3rd, and Carter McIntosh and Bryson Stuehmer took 4th.

Up next is Team Districts as the Bulldogs battle Father Tolton at the Netplex in Mexico on Monday at 4:30.

The St. Louis shut out the Colorado Rockies in a 5-0 win at Busch Stadium last night (Friday).

Jack Flaherty pitched 7 scoreless innings recording 6 strikeouts and hit his first major league home run.

Harrison Bader hit a 4 bagger also.

The Redbirds are in first place in the National League Central, 2 games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Kansas City Royals were blanked 3-0 by the Chicago White Sox at the K.

Kansas City is now 16-15 on the season and have lost six in a row.

The St. Louis Blues are headed to the Stanley Cup Playoffs once again even though they lost 4-3 in overtime to the Vegas Golden Knights on the road last night.

The Blues secured the point they needed to clinch a Stanley Cup Playoff berth.

This marks the Blues 44th appearance in the postseason and their eighth appearance in the last 9 seasons.
