Stolen Car Pursuit In Mexico Ends In A Crash And Search Is On For The Suspect

Mexico Public Safety is looking for a suspect involved in a pursuit in a stolen car early yesterday morning (Sunday).

An officer observed a blue 2003 Ford Explorer being operated erratically in the area of Clark and Boulevard around 3:19 Sunday morning.

Public Safety says the officer tried to stop the vehicle, however the driver attempted to avoid the officer and drove several blocks to the northwest before leaving the roadway and hitting a tree stump in the 400 block of Clay Street.

The driver then ran from the scene and it was determined the Ford had been stolen from the 700 block of South Jefferson Street sometime during the previous half hour.

The suspect is described as a tall, slim black man with a goatee.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mexico Public Safety.
