KWWR Sports Report 5/11

The Mexico Bulldogs Baseball Team shut out the Moberly Spartans 10-0 during Senior Night last night (Monday).

All 3 seniors played major roles in the game, Jesse Fennewald put in 2 innings of 1 hit ball.

Hunter Woolfolk reached base twice with 1 run and 1 RBI. And Ty Prince went 1-2 with 1 RBI and some stellar glove work at Short Stop.

Mexico improved its record to 10 and 11.

Up next the Bulldogs will play the regular season finale tomorrow night (Wednesday) at home against the Battle Spartans.

The Mexico Boys Tennis Team won in the first round Districts last night 5 to 3 over Father Tolton.

Individual winners for Mexico included Haden Frazier, Ryan Pemberton, and Bryson Stuehmer.

Doubles winners for the Bulldogs were Haden Frazier and Ryan Pemberton.

Mexico plays MMA in Districts tomorrow (Wednesday) at 4:30.

The Mexico Girls Soccer Team lost 4-0 to Fulton.

It was also Senior Night for the Lady Bulldogs who honored number 28 on Defense Miriam Gleeson and Manager Hernan Rodriguez.

The Fulton Hornets played with shirts that displayed Azdell on the back to honor Emma Azdell who was a member of the Mexico Soccer Team and tragically lost her life in a ATV accident recently.

Fulton gifted the shirts to Mexico after the game and shared condolences.

The Lady Bulldogs are back at it tonight (Tuesday) at Canton with a 5pm start.

The St. Louis Blues defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2 to 1 in overtime on the road last night (Monday).

Justin Faulk scored 46 seconds into overtime to give the Blues the victory.

Jordan Binnington made 26 saves for St. Louis.

The Blues will finish 4th in the Honda West Division and play either the Colorado Avalanche or the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The St. Louis Cardinals will start a 3 game series with the Milwaukee Brewers on the road tonight.

The Cardinals are 21-14 on the season and sit in first place in the National League Central 2 games ahead of the 2nd place Milwaukee Brewers.

Tonight’s game has a 6:40 first pitch.
