Nine Rescued During Human Trafficking Operation in Columbia

An investigation is ongoing after 9 people were rescued Friday night during a joint human trafficking operation conducted by several Boone County and state law enforcement agencies.

According to a release from the state attorney general’s office, local, state, and federal agencies conducted the operation out of the Holiday Inn East hotel in Columbia.

In addition, to the 9 victims, participating agencies made contact with 2 children during the operation.

2 suspects were detained.
