Mexico School District Locked Out of Facebook Account

Mexico Public Schools is alerting residents to a scam that is resulting in the district’s loss of access to Facebook.

According to Superintendent Dr. Tammy Lupardus, hackers gained access to a staff member’s personal Facebook account and gained access to the school district’s account.

The perpetrator then removed administrative privileges from all personnel of the district, effectively locking the district out of its account.

The incident did not involve the unauthorized access to or release of any student or employee information.

Facebook, according to the release from the district, has failed to provide a meaningful response or support despite several reports made by the school district.
