Area Entities Get Community Development Disaster Grant Money

Nearly 19 million dollars in Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program money is being awarded today (Wednesday).

According to the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the funding will help communities recently affected by disasters.

The City of Louisiana received 2 grants totaling just over 95 thousand dollars to install a generator at their water treatment plant and storm warning systems at two locations.

Sturgeon was approved for $495,000 to replace culvert pipes with precast concrete boxes to realign the channel of Saling Creek.

Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments is receiving $85,000 to help cities in Pike and Ralls Counties plan for future disasters, and Ralls County will be replacing a low-water crossing on Springview Trail near Route H with the nearly 401 thousand dollars they are getting.
