State Appeals Court Rules Missouri Cannot Keep Marijuana License Applications Secret

A state appeals court is ruling Missouri cannot keep medical marijuana license applications confidential.

The Western District Court of Appeals made the ruling yesterday (Tuesday) after a lawsuit was filed by a California-based company was denied a license in Missouri.

The company says it needs information from successful applicants to challenge why its application was denied and want an administrative hearing commission to decide if the scoring system regulators used to award licenses was fair.

Over 800 companies that were denied licenses to grow, distribute, and sell marijuana have appealed.
