KWWR Sports Report 5/28/21

Ten members of the Mexico Bulldogs High School Track Team will be competing at the State competition being held in Jefferson City today (Friday).

The Mizzou Tigers Softball Team will host James Madison in Columbia tonight (Friday) in the opener of the NCAA Tournament Super Regional.

The Tigers open play tonight at 8pm.

Then game 2 in the Super Regional is scheduled for tomorrow night at 6pm, and if necessary a game will be played on Sunday.

Missouri will look to advance to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2011.

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 in ten innings.

Yadier Molina provided a go-ahead RBI double.

Tyler O’Neill fresh off the injured list hit a two-run home run.

The Redbirds improved to 28-22 and hold a half-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for first place in the National League Central.

The Kansas City Royals lost 7-2 to the Tampa Bay Rays in their series finale at Tropicana Field yesterday (Thursday).

The Royals are headed to Minnesota this weekend for a three game series against the Twins.
