Mexico Public Safety Responds to Two Fire Calls Wednesday Night

Mexico Public Safety is reporting two fire related calls last night (Wednesday).

Mexico Public Safety responded to a fire around 7pm in the 900 block of East Liberty behind United Credit Union and found that a large dumpster was in fact in flames.

The fire was put out quickly.

There were no injuries and minimal damage to the gutters of the building.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Public Safety responded to a second fire around 10:08 last night (Wednesday) in the 500 block of East Central.

Responding personnel found that the resident had begun cooking then fell asleep.

When the resident awoke the house was full of smoke and Mexico Public Safety Department was called.

There were no injuries from the incident.
