KWWR Sports Report 6/22/21

Mexico High School wrestlers Katie Bowen, Ricky Juarez and Dylan Mosely have arrived in Orlando, Florida to compete at the AAU Scholastic Team Duals. All 50 states are represented. It runs through Thursday, June 24th.

A Jefferson City native will be playing on the U.S. Olympic Women’s team.

24 year old Naphessa Collier was selected to the team yesterday (Monday) and will be making her Olympic debut.

She is one of 12 players selected.

Collier is a 6-1 guard-forward who was a WNBA All-Star and Rookie of the Year for the Minnesota Lynx in 2019.

Kansas City Chiefs Defensive end Frank Clark is facing charges after an arrest in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Clark was pulled over for a vehicle violation south of downtown, and officers noticed a bag with an Uzi sticking out in plain sight in the car according to police.

He was booked into Los Angeles County jail and released yesterday (Monday) afternoon on a thirty five thousand dollar bond.

According to Clark’s attorney, the fun belonged to Clark’s bodyguard.

Clark was also arrested in March, along with another man, when officers say they found two loaded firearms in their vehicle after a traffic stop.
