Bird Scooter Company Would Like to Bring Electric Rides to Mexico

The stand up electric scooter company Bird Rides Incorporated is looking to expand into smaller communities and has approached the City of Mexico about bringing their product to the community.

Mexico Assistant Manager Russell Runge says the company would like the City of Mexico to enter into a memorandum of understanding to initially bring about 50 scooters into the town.

The bird scooters are an electric stand up scooter that goes at slow speeds and you must be 18 or older to operate it.

People can reserve the scooter from a smartphone app, ride for a small fee, and leave the scooter anywhere at the end of the journey.

During tonight’s meeting the Mexico City Council decided they would like a representative from Bird Rides Incorporated to come before the council to answer any questions they may have before making a decision on whether to allow the scooters in the Mexico community.
