President Joe Biden’s administration is planning to deploy surge response teams to hot spots across the country where the COVID-19 Delta Variant presents the most risk to unvaccinated Americans including Missouri.

It was announced yesterday (Thursday) the White House is eyeing Missouri as one of the first places that surge response teams may deploy.

According to the sewer-shed surveillance project the Delta variant is in five cities in mid-Missouri including Mexico, Fulton, Columbia, Jefferson City and Eldon.

The state’s vaccine dashboard shows a little over 39% of Missourians are fully vaccinated and 44.5% have initiated vaccination.
