KWWR Sports Report 7/8/21
St. Louis native Pat Maroon is in a special league.
He is one of just a handful of NHL players to have won 3 Stanley Cups with 2 teams.
Tampa Bay shut out the Canadiens 1-0 in Game 5 of the playoffs last night to bring home Lord Stanley’s Cup for the second year in a row.
Maroon was part of the Blues’ Stanley Cup winning team in 2019.
The Cards couldn’t pull off the sweep of the Giants, following strong pitching from San Francisco’s Alex Wood.
Wood went 7 innings of 3-hit ball to beat the Cards 5 – 2.
The Cards have the day off before heading to Chicago tomorrow.
The Royals dropped the rubber game of their series with the Reds yesterday afternoon, 5 – 2.
They’re in Cleveland tonight, taking on the Indians. Danny Duffy gets the starting pitching duties with the first pitch at 6:10.
