Prepare for Dangerous Heat & Humidity

Heat and humidity will be primary weather concerns for the next several days.

According to the National Weather Service, parts of the listening area could reach heat indices of 100 to 110 degrees this weekend.

A brief respite is expected before the mercury climbs again by Wednesday next week with heat index values of 100 to 110 once again.

They suggest staying hydrated, wearing light clothing and sunscreen, and scheduling activities during the cooler part of the day.

Check on pets and the elderly and either stay in where it’s air conditioned or go to a cooling center.
