Steelville Man Arrested and Facing Burglary Charges After Being Shot in a Centralia Residence

A Steelville man is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after breaking into a home near Centralia early yesterday morning (Sunday).

Boone County deputies went to the 23000 block of Schunemeyer Road near Centralia, after the resident reported someone was walking around the property and threatening him and hitting the windows of the house.

The resident had a woman hiding with him.

When deputies arrived they found the front door was open and 32 year old Brandon Harrison of Steelville came out of the house.

An investigation found that Harrison and the resident are relatives and the woman who was there was Harrison’s estranged girlfriend.

Deputies say Harrison entered the home and assaulted the resident, and the resident was armed with a firearm and shot Harrison.
