National Sheep Expo Comes to Mexico

A national sheep organization is holding their expo at the Audrain County 4-H Fairgrounds tomorrow (Thursday) through Saturday.

The Katahdin Hair Sheep International expo was moved to Mexico from Elizabethtown, Kentucky due to COVID restrictions and cited the “well kept barns and new meeting hall” as benefits of having the event in Mexico.

According to representatives of the group, one hundred fifty to two hundred people are expected to attend the 3-day expo, with registrants from Nevada, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona and Texas.

The annual event includes dinners tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday nights, educational seminars on Friday and will conclude with a national sale on Saturday morning at 11:30.
