More Details On Fatal Crash West Of Centralia

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is releasing more information on the fatal accident west of Centralia yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

A eastbound GMC 6000 truck driven by 53-year old Monte Hayes of Moberly had a left front tire blowout, causing pieces of the vehicle to separate.

The truck made an abrupt left turn and ultimately broadsided a vehicle driven by 24-year old Rachael M. Hultz of Madison on the passenger side, killing Hultz’s passenger, 30-year old Cassandra D. Simmerman of Clarence.

Other debris from the tire blowout struck a vehicle driven by 50-year old Gregory M. Keene of Sturgeon.

Keene and Hayes were uninjured in the accident, Hultz was taken to a Columbia hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened at 4:10 on Highway 22 840 feet west of Angell School Road.
