The Mexico Lady Bulldogs Softball Team dropped their home opener 7-3 to the Marshall Owls last night (Tuesday).
Riley Thurman went 2-3 with one RBI, Kierstan Epperson was 1 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI. Lexie Willer had a hit, Jordyn Thurman went 1 for 2 with 2 walks and a run, and Abby Bellamy had a hit and a run scored.
Up next a road game against Columbia Battle on Friday.
The North Callaway Thunderbirds Softball Team lost 8-5 to South Callaway in Kingdom City.
The Junior Varsity Thunderbirds lost 15-10.
The next game for the North Cal softball girls will be tomorrow night (Thursday) at home against Van-Far.
The Mexico Girls Golf Team hosted their first home meet of the season at Arthur Hills last night (Tuesday) against Hallsville, Salisbury and New Bloomfield.
Kennedi Rowe took home individual 1st place score shooting a 45.
Morgan Craig shot a 58, and Alexis Henderson shot a 60.
Up next Mexico will host Southern Boone, Palmyra, and Harrisburg tomorrow night (Thursday) at 4 at Arthur Hills.
The Mexico Lady Bulldogs Tennis Team had another great night with a 9-0 win against the Marshall Owls on the road last night (Tuesday).
Varsity singles winners were Shelby Kennemore, Katie Gooch, Lily Yager, Estrella Ramirez-Lopez, Jocelyn Jarquin-Garcia and Winona Whelan.

Junior Varsity doubles winners were Jyllian Whitworth and Brynna Carey, Daida Herrera and Amelia Denham, Lani Blair and Lucy Gleeson, Claire Hudson and Madison Maxwell, Sondra Jarquin-Cruz and Madison Wheaton, and Reiley Walker and Abby Ryan.
It was the second straight night the Lady Bulldogs put up a shutout victory after defeating Boonville on the road on Monday night.
The St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds will play a day-night doubleheader today (Wednesday) after having yesterday’s (Tuesday) game postponed because of rain.
Game 1 will be the rescheduled game and is set to begin at 12:10.
The regularly scheduled series finale will be tonight at 5:40.
The Cardinals trail the Reds by 2 and 1/2 games for the second Wild Card spot.
The Kansas City Royals lost 7-2 to the Cleveland Indians at the K. Royals pitcher Jakob Junis returned to the mound after being optioned to Triple A in June.
He tossed 4 and 2/3 solid innings allowing 3 runs and 4 hits with 6 strikeouts.
