KWWR Sports Report 9/10/21

The 8th ranked Mexico Bulldogs Football team will be at home tonight (Friday) hosting the Orchard Farm Eagles.

The Bulldogs have moved in the Class 3 State rankings to number 8 this week, up one spot from 9th last week.

The Bulldogs are 2-0 while Orchard Farm has a record of 1-1.

Other week 3 games include Centralia hosting Brrokfield, Hallsville at home against Versailles, MMA at home against Father Tolton, Monroe City hosting South Shelby, and Paris against Scotland County.

The Mexico Girls Tennis team picked up a conference road win 8-1 over Kirksville last night (Thursday).

Head Coach Kim Costley says it was a strong outing and Shelby Kennemore continues to play strong at the #1 position.

Other singles winners for Mexico include Katie Gooch, Estrella Ramirez-Lopez, Jocelyn Jarquin-Garcia and Winona Whelan.

Doubles winners were Shelby Kennemore and Lily Yager, Katie Gooch and Winona Whelan, Jocelyn Jarquin-Lopez and Estrella Ramirez-Lopez.

Mexico is 4-2 on the year.

In high school softball the Mexico Lady Bulldogs notched a 19-2 win over the Hannibal Pirates.

The Community R6 Lady Trojans fell 15-3 to Silex.
