Audrain County Health Department Developing Plan to Administer Third Dose of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

The Audrain County Health Department is beginning to develop clinic plans to administer third doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The FDA approved the third dose on Monday.

The CDC is recommending the Pfizer COVID vaccine booster shots for people 65 and older as well as individuals 18 through 64 years old who are at high risk of developing severe COVID.

According to Audrain County Health Department CEO Craig Brace, his department will have Pfizer booster appointment slots available starting mid-October.

In the meantime, Brace is encouraging area residents to seek out vaccinations at area pharmacies.
