KWWR Sports Report 10/13/21

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs offense exploded last night (Tuesday) with a 14-9 win over the Centralia Lady Panthers in Round 1 of girls high school softball districts. Senior Ruby Haefling hit the first home run of her high school career with a 3 run blast in the 1st inning. Jordyn Thurman launched a solo shot and pitched a complete game. The 5th seeded Lady Bulldogs will face the number 1 seed Hallsville Lady Indians tonight in Fulton at 4:30.

The Community R6 Lady Trojans Softball Team is moving on in Districts after shutting out Wellsville 11-0 last night (Tuesday).

The Lady Trojans won their 19th game of the season and will play Van-Far tonight (Wednesday) at 6:45 in Silex.

The North Callaway Thunderbirds Softball Team had their season come to an end with a 10-0 loss in five innings to New Bloomfield.

New Bloomfield will now face Fayette tonight in the second round of Districts.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced a roster move yesterday (Tuesday).

They signed running back Derrick Gore to the 53-man roster.

The move was made due to Clyde Edwards-Helaire being placed on injured reserve after he suffered a MCL sprain and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

One game played in the Major League Baseball Playoffs last night (Tuesday) as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants 7-2.

The series is now evened up at 2 games apiece.

Game 5 takes place tomorrow night (Thursday) in San Francisco.
