St. Louis Cardinals Announce New Manager
The St. Louis Cardinals are introducing Oliver “Oli” Marmol as the team’s manager.
The announcement was made this morning and he becomes the 51st manager in franchise history, and at age 35, he becomes the youngest active manager in Major League Baseball.
Marmol spent 5 seasons managing in the Cardinals farm system from 2012 to 2016.
He most recently served as the Cardinals bench coach the past 3 seasons.
Former manager Mike Shildt was dismissed earlier this month over what Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak called a philosophical difference.
