KWWR Sports Report 12/22/21

A rivalry game and a loud atmosphere helped propel the Community R-VI Trojan boys basketball team to a win last night (Tuesday) at Van-Far.

The Trojans beat the Indians 60 – 57, led by Gavin Allen with 26 points.

The Trojans and other area teams have battled injuries in the first half of the season and coach Tad Shotten says they are hoping the student athletes can get healthy over the winter break.

The football Tigers are in Forth Worth preparing for tonight’s Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl against the Army Black Knights.

Mizzou has played Army four times starting in 1968, but it’s been nearly 40 years since they last played one another in 1982.

Missouri leads the series 3 -1, their only loss was at West Point in 1971.

Kickoff at Amon G. Carter Stadium is set for 7pm.

The Tigers men’s basketball team is in St. Louis tonight for one of the biggest rivalry games in college basketball.

The McBride Homes Braggin’ Rights game against Illinois gets underway at 7pm at the Enterprise Center.

Coming off a win Saturday over the Utes of Utah, the Tigers are hoping to continue their winning streak in the rivalry game.

The Tigers have won the last 3 Braggin’ Rights games, although the Illini lead the series 32 – 19.

The Illini are coming into tonight’s game having won 6 out of the last 8 games they’ve played.
