Mexico Schools Announces Hires For Assistant Superintendent and Principal at Hawthorne Elementary

The Mexico Board of Education is announcing the hiring of an Assistant Superintendent and Principal at the Hawthorne Elementary School.

Dr. Robert Miles will step into the role of Assistant Superintendent for the Mexico Public Schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

He is currently the principal of Eugene Field Elementary School. Before coming to Mexico, Dr. Miles was an art teacher in Fulton for 17 years and then became an assistant principal for 5 years for Columbia Public Schools, serving at Derby Ridge Elementary and Mill Creek Elementary Schools.

Dr. Miles will officially begin his duties on July 1st, 2022.

Kathryn Lehnen will be the next Principal at Hawthorne Elementary for the upcoming school year.

Mrs. Lehnen is the Hawthorne Assistant Principal and has been in that position for 2 years.

She holds a BS in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, both from the University of Missouri Columbia. Officially, her duties will start July 1st, 2022.
