Fulton Man Arrested for DWI and Resisting Arrest After Early Morning Traffic Stop
A Fulton man is facing DWI charges and resisting arrest following a traffic stop this morning (Friday).
According to a news release from the Fulton Police Department they conducted a traffic stop in the area of 4th Street and Westminster Avenue just before 2am.
The driver identified as 41 year old Shaun Smith was determined to be driving while intoxicated and while officers were pacing him under arrest, he attempted to run.
Smith was caught after only running a few feet.
He is accused of continuing to resist arrest and was eventually taken into custody.
Police say they found a loaded handgun and marijuana inside the vehicle.
He was released to the Callaway County Jail with no bond.
