The St. Louis Blues re-signed one of their top players to a massive new contract yesterday (Wednesday) on the first day of NHL free agency.
Robert Thomas will be with the Blues well into his prime after signing an eight year contract extension. The new deal totals $65 million.
Thomas led the Blues with 57 assists last season, setting a new career high. He also notched career-highs in goals with 20 and points with 77.

The St. Louis Cardinals had their three game winning streak come to an end with a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Busch last night (Wednesday).
The Redbirds had a commanding six-run lead when their usually reliable bullpen came apart. The Cardinals bullpen surrendered all seven runs over the final three innings.

The Kansas City Royals defeated the Detroit Tigers 5-2 at the K.
The Royals finished their seven-game homestead at 5-2 against Cleveland and Detroit.
