A pair of accidents this weekend in mid-Missouri kill four and seriously injure one.

The first accident happened on Highway 22 west of Highway Y in Boone County early Saturday morning when a Buick driven by 38-year-old Amy Henrichsen of Laddonia crossed the center line and struck a Dodge driven by 20-year-old Miasja Galloway-Murphy of Fulton.

Both drivers were killed as was an as yet unidentified passenger in Galloway-Muphy’s vehicle.

That accident happened just after 2:00 Saturday morning.

The second fatality accident happened Saturday afternoon at 2:25 in Cole County on Route B just north of Osage Bend Road.

52-year-old William E. Nichols of Centralia was driving a 2020 Harley Davidson and failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the left side of the road.

Nichols and his passenger, 51-year-old Melinda J. Swanson, also of Centralia, were thrown from the motorcycle and struck a fence line.

Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene and Swanson was flown to a Columbia hospital with serious injuries.

These are Troop F’s third, fourth, fifth and sixth fatalities for July and 39th, 40th, 41st, and 42nd fatalities for 2022.
